- Have I explained how the proposed project challenges/seeks to shift current paradigms? Have I described novel aspects of the project design and advantages over existing practices? Have I laid out our improvements or new applications of existing strategies?
- Do I use a respectful tone when discussing gaps in the literature and limitations of prior studies?
- Have I laid out my project’s competitive analysis and made clear how my project is innovative when viewed against the context of the field?
- Have I tried to incorporate key phrases, such as “Our team will be the first to…”, “We have developed a novel…”, ”Our approach is much more comprehensive than …”, “Our state-of-the-art technologies will provide unprecedented…” etc.
- Is my project innovative, but not too far outside the box?
